Guest Speaker - Dr. Ramy Salah
Topic : End-of-Life Care: An Islamic Perspective
Description: A talk on contemporary medical care at the end of life and how that fits in an Islamic context
Dr. Ramy Salah was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area. He completed his undergraduate studies at UC Berkeley, where he became more in touch with Islam and the community through the MSA. He finished medical school at UCLA and did his residency in Internal Medicine at UCLA as well. He is now completing a one-year fellowship program at UCSF in Hospice and Palliative Care, His interests include Islamic bioethics, end-of-life care for Muslim patients, and has an ongoing research project interviewing imams and Muslim chaplains around end-of-life care.
