Dear Respected Brother/Sister,

Assalaamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuh !

Insha’Allah! Tracy Islamic Center monthly Family Night program is on Friday January 4th, 2019.
Please attend this event with your family members and learn more about the Islamic values which we need to adopt in our daily life.

Guest Speaker :   Br. Ali Bishop

Topic: Under Pressure - Managing demands we put ourselves and from others

Br. Ali Bishop converted to Islam in 1996 in Aurora, Illinois. Upon his conversion he had the unique opportunity to sit with many traditional scholars with an emphasis on fiqh and spirituality.  He is the first in his family to attend college. In 2013 he received his bachelor’s degree at California State University, Sacramento in the field Social Work, with an emphasis on Community Mental Health. He continued onto to California State, East Bay where he received his master’s degree in social work with an emphasis on Community Mental Health in 2014. All his course work and field hours were in a therapy setting, giving him the opportunity to work individually and in groups to assist clients with an array of mental health needs. For the past three years, Ali has been employed at Newark High School in Newark, California as the Mental Health Clinician. There he works directly with the students in individual and group settings to assist with social, emotional and behavioral issues. Ali now brings his education and experience into the Muslim community of the East Bay. He currently lives in Fremont, California with his wife and cat, Rocky, where in his spare time rides his motorcycle.
