Based on the direction from Tracy City Council - Shelter in Place, Effective immediately, and until further notice, the TIC facility is closed and all gatherings are suspended.

Tracy Islamic Center is taking these proactive, precautionary steps to help protect the health and well-being of our congregants and the broader community.

URGENT COVID-19 (Coronavirus) → Suspension of All Programs/Activities at TIC

Based on the direction from Tracy City Council - Shelter in Place, Effective immediately, and until further notice, the TIC facility is closed and all gatherings are suspended.

• TIC Facility and Daily Prayers: Suspended until further notice.

Tracy Islamic Center is taking these proactive, precautionary steps to help protect the health and well-being of our congregants and the broader community.

Based on this recommendations, last week, and until further notice, the following gatherings were already suspended:

• Jumu’ah Prayers: Suspended effective Friday, March 13^th until further notice. Please pray Zuhr at home on Friday.
• Sunday School: Suspended until further notice. Further details will be sent to parents this week.
• Quran School: Suspended until further notice. Further details will be sent to parents this week.
• Sisters Halaqas: All classes/programs suspended until further notice.
• All Friday Night Programs: Suspended until further notice.

We ask Allah SWT to protect us all and forgive for any shortcomings. Please continue to make dua and also be vigilant about the best health practices to protect yourself and others around the world.

Any changes will be communicated via email and posted on our website and Facebook page.

California Department of Public Health Services has released stricter community guidelines relating to the fast evolving novel coronavirus COVID-19 situation. Their aim is to reduce the spread of the virus and to protect community members who are most at risk of serious illness. They highly recommend cancellation of large gatherings such as sporting events, celebrations, religious services and community events where 250 or more people are within an arm’s length of each other.

Information on COVID-19 (Corona Virus)

Reminder: CDC Safety Precautions
TIC strongly advises all congregants, and especially our elderly, to familiarize themselves with safety precautions to be taken at this time:

• Fever, cough and shortness of breath should seek medical attention.
• Restrict your activities in public areas if you are ill or elderly and avoid close contact with others, including at the masjid.
• Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing; going to the bathroom; and before eating or preparing food.
• If soap and water are not readily available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol, covering all surfaces of your hands and rubbing them together until they feel dry.
• Soap and water are the best option if hands are visibly dirty.
• Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.
• Abstain from handshaking.
• If you are traveling overseas, follow CDC’s guidance: wwwnc.cdc.gov/travel.
• There are currently no vaccines available to prevent novel coronavirus infections.

How is Coronavirus Spread Per the CDC?

• Through respiratory droplets when an infected person coughs or sneezes.
• Between people who are in close contact with one another (within about 6 feet).
• By touching a surface or object with the virus and then touching the mouth, nose, or eyes.
