California IMAM Network Quran Competition 2020

Assalamu 'Alaikum va-Rahmatullaahi va-Barakaatuh,

Every year California IMAM Network conducts Quran Competition in various Islamic Centers from Fresno to San Francisco. This year Tracy Islamic Center will be hosting this event. Below are the details:

Quran Competition – Participants needs to memorize all the Suras in the level that they are participating. They will be judged based on their memorization and their recitation.

Hadith Competition – The participant needs to memorize all the Hadith in Arabic and its translation in English in the level that they are participating. The questions will be based on the meaning of the Ahadith and the lessons that can be extracted from them.

The Hadith book for this competition is “40 Hadith for Islamic Schools By Muhammad S Adly”. The book is available at TIC and can be purchased from Sheikh Basem.

(19 - 1441 ) Jumada al- Awwal 29th, 1441 / January 24th, 2020.

وَاتْلُ عَلَيْهِمْ نَبَأَ إِبْرَاهِيمَ - 26:69
And recite to them the news of Abraham

قِيلَ لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ أَىُّ النَّاسِ أَفْضَلُ قَالَ ‏"‏ كُلُّ مَخْمُومِ الْقَلْبِ صَدُوقِ اللِّسَانِ ‏"‏ ‏.‏ قَالُوا صَدُوقُ اللِّسَانِ نَعْرِفُهُ فَمَا مَخْمُومُ الْقَلْبِ قَالَ ‏"‏ هُوَ التَّقِيُّ النَّقِيُّ لاَ إِثْمَ فِيهِ وَلاَ بَغْىَ وَلاَ غِلَّ وَلاَ حَسَدَ ‏"‏
It was narrated that ‘Abdullah bin ‘Amr said:
“It was said to the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ): ‘Which of the people is best?’ He said: ‘Everyone who is pure of heart and sincere in speech.’ They said: ‘Sincere in speech, we know what this is, but what is pure of heart?’ He said: ‘It is (the heart) that is pious and pure, with no sin, injustice, rancor or envy in it.’”

1. Praising Allah should precede the supplication. 
2. The sound heart from a religious perspective.
3. The believer should seek success in Donia and happiness in the Hereafter.
4. Things should be evaluated based upon the criteria of Allah. 
5. Regret will not help on the Day of Judgement.

وَاتْلُ عَلَيْهِمْ نَبَأَ إِبْرَاهِيمَ - 26:69
And recite to them the news of Abraham

قَالَ رَجُلٌ لِلنَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَا خَيْرَ الْبَرِيَّةِ ‏.‏ قَالَ ‏ "‏ ذَلِكَ إِبْرَاهِيمُ ‏"‏ ‏
A man said to the Prophet: “O best of creatures!” So he said: “That is Ibrahim.”

1. The story of Ibrahim intended to entertain Mohammad (pbuh).
2. Some of the attributes of Allah that Ibrahim addresses in Surat ash-Shu’ara.
3. The believer should seek success in Donia and happiness in the Hereafter.
4. Richness of our worldly life is estimated by wealth and children but it is a believer with a sound heart on the Day of judgement. 
5. Ibrahim (pbuh) will meet his Father Aazr on the Day of Judgment.

1. Mohammad (pbuh) is a mercy for mankind. 
2. The story of Ibrahim intended to entertain and inspire Mohammad (pbuh).
3. Some of Allah's attributes that Ibrahim addresses in Surat ash-Shu’ara.
4. The believer should seek success in Donia and happiness in the Hereafter.
5. Richness of our worldly life is estimated by wealth and children but it is a believer with a sound heart on the Day of judgement. 
6. Take advantage of your life before your death.

At-Tufail bin `Amr

لَقَدْ جَاءَكُمْ رَسُولٌ مِّنْ أَنفُسِكُمْ عَزِيزٌ عَلَيْهِ مَا عَنِتُّمْ حَرِيصٌ عَلَيْكُم بِالْمُؤْمِنِينَ رَءُوفٌ رَّحِيمٌ - 9:128

There has certainly come to you a Messenger from among yourselves. Grievous to him is what you suffer; [he is] concerned over you and to the believers is kind and merciful

عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ـ رضى الله عنه ـ قَدِمَ الطُّفَيْلُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنَّ دَوْسًا قَدْ عَصَتْ وَأَبَتْ، فَادْعُ اللَّهَ عَلَيْهَا‏.‏ فَظَنَّ النَّاسُ أَنَّهُ يَدْعُو عَلَيْهِمْ، فَقَالَ ‏ "‏ اللَّهُمَّ اهْدِ دَوْسًا وَأْتِ بِهِمْ ‏"‏‏.‏

at-Tufail bin `Amr came to Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) and said, "O Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)! The tribe of Daus has disobeyed (Allah and His Apostle) and refused (to embrace Islam), therefore, invoke Allah's wrath for them." The people thought that the Prophet (ﷺ) would invoke Allah's wrath for them, but he said, "O Allah! Guide the tribe Of Daus and let them come to us."

1. The best Da’wah is your manners.
2. Good Muslim loves for others what he loves for himself.
3. Whoever leads to good will be rewarded equally to those who perform it.
4. The believer should seek Allah’s forgiveness for obedient ones and the sinners, as well.
